All newborns are photographed in my cozy home studio in Barrhaven while serving families across Ottawa, Nepean, Kanata, Stittsville, Smiths Falls, and Carleton Place. My goal is to provide a calm, comfortable experience for both parents and babies.

When to Book Your Newborn Session

Newborn sessions are always best booked while you’re still expecting. This allows me to reserve space in my calendar around your due date. I typically hold two tentative dates based on your baby’s expected arrival, and once your baby is here, we finalize the session that works best for you.

While booking early is ideal, I also keep limited space for babies who have already arrived.

Sessions are best scheduled within the first 5–21 days after birth, when babies are still sleepy and naturally curl into those classic newborn poses. Sessions are calm, unhurried, and always centered around your baby’s comfort. While no specific pose is ever guaranteed, I aim to create a beautiful variety of images during your session.

Whether this is your first child or your fourth, newborn photography captures a stage that passes incredibly fast — tiny fingers, soft expressions, and the connection between your growing family.

The Petite Newborn Package

The Petite Newborn Package is ideal for families who want a shorter, streamlined session with a focus on wrapped baby portraits while still including a few family images.

This session keeps your baby comfortably swaddled throughout and allows time for:

• Wrapped poses

• Basket or prop setups

• Fabric backdrop poses

• Macro images of your baby’s tiny details

• Parent and sibling images

It’s perfect for families who prefer a simple setup, a more efficient session, and a beautiful mix of baby and family moments without a long studio experience.

Sessions are gently posed and baby-led, allowing for natural moments without feeling rushed.

The Newborn Package

The Newborn Package is my most popular choice for parents who want a session focused entirely on their baby.

This package is designed to capture your newborn in a variety of styled sets and includes:

• Individual baby portraits

• Wrapped and unwrapped poses

• Macro images of your baby’s tiny details

• Fabric backdrop setups

This session does not include parent or sibling images, allowing us to focus solely on your baby and create a clean, cohesive gallery. There is still plenty of time for feeding, soothing, and breaks so the session always stays relaxed and baby-led.

The Newborn + Family Package

The Newborn + Family Package is designed for families who want the full storytelling experience.

This option allows extra time for:

• Multiple baby setups

• Wrapped and unwrapped poses

• Macro images of your baby’s tiny details

• Family and sibling portraits

Because the session is longer, there’s plenty of space for feeding, soothing, and breaks without feeling pressured. It’s a wonderful choice for families who want a rich, diverse gallery that captures both your newborn and your family’s connection.

I always recommend booking your newborn session during pregnancy to ensure availability. Due dates allow me to reserve space in my Ottawa newborn photography calendar and adjust once your baby arrives. While reserving in advance is ideal, I always leave room for a small number of babies who have already arrived.
