From “Office” to Photography Studio: My Cozy Creative Space | Ottawa Newborn Photographer

Seven years ago, when we moved into this house, I remember looking at the small “office” on the floor plans and wondering if it could really function as a photography studio. As a newborn and family photographer, studio space is so important — and I quietly questioned whether I would need to rethink offering studio sessions at all and stick with outdoor work.
But over time, my little studio has become a place I absolutely love!
It’s taken patience (and more rearranging than I can count) to make the space flow in a way that works for both my clients and me. Every piece has a purpose. Every corner has been thoughtfully designed. And while it may be tiny — I prefer the word cozy — it functions beautifully.
This space is perfect for newborn sessions, milestone portraits, and even family portraits. I have a dedicated newborn posing table fully equipped to keep your little one safe, supported, and comfortable throughout the session. There’s also a permanent rustic wood floor and wall setup that’s perfect for basket prop shots and milestone sessions of all ages.
All of my props, wraps, and fabrics are stored in a separate room, which allows the studio itself to remain open, uncluttered, and welcoming.
Tiny but thoughtfully arranged, this little studio is my creative spot. It’s where I slow down, focus on the details, and capture those tiny features that make each newborn and family session so special.
Small but mighty — and filled with so much heart. 🤍
